Rwanda Dukunde Kawa Musasa
The Dukunde Kawa Cooperative was founded in 2000 and quickly became a shining example of cooperative farming for coffee producers around the world. Members have access to health insurance, modern materials for building homes, and financing for crops and livestock. With more than 1,800 members and eighty percent female representation, Dukunde Kawa is very proud of its workforce.
To make up this Colectivo seasonal offering, family owned farms in the Gakenke District delivered ripe, vintage Bourbon variety coffee cherries to the Musasa washing station, which sits at more than 2,000 meters above sea level. The cool, high mountain air creates extremely dense coffee seeds. These growing conditions, combined with rich, volcanic soil, result in a sweet and lively coffee. Grape jam, vanilla, and clementine flavors are supported by a round, juicy body and pinpoint raspberry acidity. Enjoy!
